Formulation Quote Manager
Essential Functions: The Formulations/Quote Manager is responsible for coordinating formulations information. Qualified candidate will also be responsible for gathering raw material specifications and pricing to quote cost for final finished product; re-costing existing formulas and packaging as required; update, prepare, enter, maintain, and file product information, formula cost, raw material cost, and Specs, and customer information in Macola systems. Assist the Product Development dept in updating, keeping accurate formulas, packaging specs and label claims on products. Assist PD in handling trial and pilot batches as requested.
Requirements: Qualified candidate must have a B.S. degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Biology or other related science, with a minimum of 1-2 years experience in formulations of nutritional products. Knowledge of packaging materials and sourcing; must have excellent math skills; computer literate; knowledge of Access and Macola systems preferred. Must able to multitask. Material Handler Essential Functions: The Material Handler works closely with department supervisor, follow instructions, pull and stage packaging materials; keep all packaging lines supplied; return unused materials to inventory; follow instructions; be alert so that packaging lines don’t run out of materials and to stay ahead in staging, for subsequent production runs.
Requirements: HS Diploma, some college courses; minimum of 5 years of experience in fast pace warehouse environment. Fluency in the English language is required. Must stay on task until all work is completed; extensive material handling experience; experience in warehouse management systems; knowledgeable with Macola systems; must have prior experience in forklift operation.

Packaging Operator
Essential Functions: The Packaging Operator assures that assigned packaging equipment is operated in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures, and that processed product meets all applicable specifications; performs and documents in-process inspections of equipment being operated; assembles and disassembles assigned equipment and all related components; performs appropriate cleaning as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures; monitors performance of equipment during operation and make adjustments as mandated; maintains an adequate inventory of spare parts to ensure continued operation of assigned equipment; assists Packaging Room Supervisor in other areas as directed.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, with a mechanical aptitude. Fluency in the English language is required. Must be able to perform required repetitive lifting tasks. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; used hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must lift up to 25 pounds.

Compression Machine Operator
Essential Functions: The Compression/Encapsulation Machine Operator assists the team leader in ensuring that all compression and encapsulation equipment meets or exceeds acceptable operating standards; checks tablets parameters; troubleshoots for problems and run press efficiently. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to perform mathematical operations using weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to apply common sense.
Requirements: HS Diploma or GED with at least one year of experience in a production environment. Fluency in the English language is required. Mechanical skill preferred. Required to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Close vision required and ability to adjust focus.

Laboratory Technician (California)
Essential Functions: Champion Nutrition a manufacturer of health and fitness products is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician. Qualified candidate will be responsible for weighing and mixing ingredients for nutritional supplement products; orders samples of raw materials and ensure a working stock of flavor and other materials are readily at hand; keeps good records of trial batches and ensure all records for products are maintained and up to date; assists Product Development in updating, and keeping accurate formulas, packaging specs and label claims on products; calls vendors to get cost, samples and specifications for raw materials and packaging components; keeps laboratory area and instrumentation clean and in working condition; performs special projects as assigned by Management and/or the President; updates, prepares, enters and maintains computer documentation for product development; other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements: High school graduate. A minimum of 1 year experience working in a laboratory setting. Nutritional/food sports nutrition experience preferred.Experience discerning quality of test samples required. Excellent math skills. Knowledge of operation of computer programs such as Word, Excell, and database programs. Ability to multitask, handling multiple projects at any one time and ensuring that they are brought through to completion.

Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic
Essential Functions: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist.
Requirements: HS Diploma or GED plus 3 year of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have technical certificate in manufacturing equipment operations. Fluency in the English language is required. Required to regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Close vision required and ability to adjust focus.

Worker’s Compensation Eligibility – 1st day of employment. NPI bears the entire cost of medical care in the event of a job related death, injury or occupational illness.
401(k) Plan – American Funds Eligibility—1st of the month following 90 days of employment. Employees may contribute from 1-15% of their salary, subject to the maximum amount allowed by law each year. (2006 - 401(k) contribution limits are $15,000 for those under age 50 and $15,000 plus $5000 additional catch up contribution for those over 50 years of age). The company will match up to 50% of the first 4% of the employee’s salary deferral. NPI has approximately 15 investment options for employees to choose from.
Section 125 – Premium Only Pay Employee’s medical, dental, life and disability premiums are deducted from their wages before payroll taxes are calculated. This results in lower Federal income and FICA taxes and increased take-home pay.
